From November 28, 2008 to January 2, 2009, Guests of all ages can fulfill their festive fantasies day and night at Hong Kong Disneyland, as they immerse themselves in a Christmas Kingdom. Offerings include the Royal Christmas Ball and Sparkling Castle Lights, Mickey’s Christmas House, the “Let It Snow” Christmas Parade, Main Street Christmas, as well as a dazzling array of food and beverages and themed merchandise.
The first story of the season came to life as the Resort invited an Honorary Guest Couple to launch Hong Kong Disneyland Sparkling Christmas – Royal Kingdom. Chosen from hundreds of entries, Elma Lui and Ringo Li received an exquisite makeover and officiated the first Royal Christmas Ball in the presence of Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, Donald Duck, Daisy Duck, Goofy, Prince Phillip and Princess Aurora. The couple’s ultra romantic moment culminated in the lighting of Sleeping Beauty Castle, marking the beginning of countless Disney tales to come this holiday season.
Open from 10:00am to 8:00pm each day, the Park will provide Guests with endless hours of Christmas magic. On special days, from December 12 to 13 and 19 to 30, the Park will extend its hours of operation until 9:00pm. On December 31, the Park will host the exhilarating ‘Club Disney’s New Year’s Eve Countdown Party’ that will run until 12:30am.

A Romantic Royal Kingdom for Everyone
The highlight of the Resort’s Christmas celebration, the Royal Christmas Ball is a spectacular stage show in which Princess Aurora celebrates the Christmas season with friends and Guests.
Taking place at the Sleeping Beauty Castle forecourt three times a day, this glittering performance features beloved Disney Characters, all-new music and an extravagant custom designed stage. The climax of the evening comes with the crowning of Princess Aurora during the last show, at which moment the Sparkling Castle Lights will come to life with an all-new finale and pyrotechnics.
With Sleeping Beauty Castle glittering beautifully or the Disney in the Stars fireworks lighting up the night, Guests can expect breath-taking spectacles everywhere they look as the Hologram Viewers surround them with angels and snowmen.
Continuing a Hong Kong Disneyland tradition, the “Let It Snow” Christmas Parade will again immerse Guests in a sensational experience, filled with glittering dancers and floats. This high energy procession will have Guests of all ages dancing along Main Street U.S.A.
Mickey’s Christmas House will delight Guests as they explore Mickey’s festively decorated home. The moment Guests enter, the smell of gingerbread will fill the air; elves will play with children and adults alike; and photo opportunities with Santa Mickey and throughout his home will be aplenty.
Creating Heartfelt Moments that will Last a Lifetime
In Main Street Christmas, small-town America has been transformed into a delightful Christmas playground. White snow, hot chocolate, delectable Christmas treats at the ‘Christmas Market’, romantic carolers, holiday garlands and of course a towering Christmas tree will make the entire street a perfect location to snap festive photos.
Christmas wouldn’t be Christmas without a plethora of seasonal-themed merchandise. With three themes to choose from, Mickey Family in Sparkling Christmas Royal Kingdom, Snowy Mickey and Minnie, Pooh Family in Snowy & Romantic Christmas, all exclusive to Hong Kong Disneyland, and over 130 all-new items in total, Guests will be able to shop to their hearts’ content.
Festive appetites will be satisfied this holiday season as the entire Resort fills with Christmas-themed menus and goodies. From Gingerbread Pudding at the Main Street Corner Café to Sparkling Popcorn from the Outdoor Vending carts, the Park will be a Christmas culinary paradise. The Hong Kong Disneyland Hotel and Disney’s Hollywood Hotel will also feature sumptuous Christmas buffets and feasts all holiday season long.
The Resort is set to celebrate the New Year with Guests, as it rolls out ‘Club Disney’s New Year’s Eve Countdown Party’. A live band will be cranking out hit after hit in front of Sleeping Beauty Castle, while the Resort turns Tomorrowland into the best ‘nightclub’ in town. Mickey Mouse and his pals will also be out in force to snap some rocking photos in Adventureland.
