November 1999 -- Hong Kong Disneyland project is announced.

Summer 2000 -- Land reclamation project started for future site of Hong Kong Disneyland Resort.
August 2001 -- Don Robinson named executive vice president and group managing director of Hong Kong Disneyland Resort.
November 2002 -- Disney executives unveil plans for Hong Kong Disneyland Hotel and Disney's Hollywood Hotel.
Dec. 12, 2002 -- Plans announced for Hong Kong Disneyland Commemorative Stamp Collection.
Jan. 12, 2003 -- The Walt Disney Company and Hong Kong Government break ground on first theme park in China.
July 2004 -- Hong Kong Disneyland announces Jacky Cheung as official spokesperson.
Sept. 23, 2004 -- Hong Kong Disneyland castle-topping ceremony.
Oct. 21, 2004 -- Hong Kong Disneyland names its first ambassador, Angela To.
Nov. 22, 2004 -- Disney and Hong Kong SAR Government Announce Hong Kong Disneyland Opening Day to be Sept. 12, 2005, in accordance with feng shui tradition.
February 2005 -- Hong Kong Disneyland opens hotel reservation hotline.
April 25, 2005 -- Hong Kong Disneyland and the MTR Corporation unveil the first Disneyland Resort Line train.
May 5, 2005 -- Hong Kong Disneyland joins in biggest celebration in Disney history - the "Happiest Celebration on Earth," an 18-month Disney worldwide salute to the 50th anniversary of Disneyland.
May 13, 2005 -- Hong Kong Disneyland MTR train station completed.
Aug. 1, 2005 -- New MTR service begins to Hong Kong Disneyland Resort.
Aug. 16, 2005 -- Hong Kong Disneyland opens park to cast members, family and friends for "Rehearsal Days" prior to official opening.
Aug. 16, 2005 -- Inspiration Lake officially opens to the public.
