Extra Magic Hour

Each day one of the Disney Theme Parks opens an hour early or stays open up to three hours after regular Park closing, so Disney Resort Guests can enjoy easy access to select attractions — even the most popular ones! It is only available to guests staying Walt Disney World-owned resorts, Dolphin & Swan Resorts, Hilton Resort at Downtown Disney and Shades of Green.
Extra Magic Hours or EMH can help you make the most of your vacation time and see and do everything at an easy, relaxed pace.
List of attractions open during EMH
Morning EMH
This starts one hour prior to the normal scheduled park opening. So, if the park is scheduled to open at 9am to the general public, the EMH begins at 8am
Transportation for the park offering Morning EMH will begin 30 minutes before the opening time.
You MUST present a valid Theme Park admission and your Resort ID at the park's turnstiles or you will not be allowed to enter.
Evening EMH
You can stay in the park for up to three hours after a park's normal closing time.
To be able to stay in the park and visit the attractions, you'll need to obtain a wristband by presenting a valid Theme Park admission and Resort ID at one of several designated locations in that theme park. Wristbands will be distributed no sooner than two hours before the benefit begins and are NOT available at the Resorts.
If you have a Basic Magic Your Way ticket without Park Hopper Option, make sure you only use the ticket to visit the park where you'll be taking advantage of EMH that day.

Tips
Parks can get busier on days when there is a morning Extra Magic Hour. A good plan is to arrive for the start of morning EMH, do as many attractions as you can, then leave when the park starts to get busy late morning.
If you want to make the most of EMH, go to the park which has morning EMH that day and stay until lunchtime. You can then either go back to your hotel for a rest, or go straight to the park which has evening EMH that day. It's a very long day, and if you have children, a rest break in the afternoon is advised.
