Cabo San Lucas Adventure Sports Excursions

Baja 1000 Test Track

Become an off-road racecar driver when you put the pedal to the metal of an official Baja 1000 buggy at a private racetrack!

Revel in the unspoiled natural beauty of Cabo San Lucas — where sprawling hillside climbs mingle with sweeping seaside views — as you make your way aboard an air-conditioned van to a private racecourse approximately 15 miles from the city center. During your picturesque journey, learn about the history of the city and bay from your friendly guide. Following your 25-minute drive, meet and greet your friendly instructor who, along with a team of trainers, will introduce you to the world of off-road racing and show you how to operate your ride for the afternoon: a certified and tested Baja 1000 off-road buggy. Featuring secure seating and excellent off-road handling, the Baja 1000 off-road buggy is the same vehicle used in the world-famous Baja 1000 race, only with a slightly smaller engine than the racing models. Receive your protective gear, which includes a helmet, goggles and gloves, and get strapped into your car for the upcoming adventure. Then take off on a preparative lap accompanied by an instructor before taking the wheel for your very own rip-roaring adventure.

During your solo race, sit tight as you bounce up and down over rocky, choppy terrain. Blaze across long stretches of desert ground and maneuver your way around razor-sharp bends at breakneck speeds. Whisk up over dusty inclines and hold your breath as your all-terrain racer soars through the air and takes flight. Quickly navigate left and then right, and giggle in delight as dirt ricochets from your tires in all directions. Zip past banked desert vistas and feel the wind dash across your face as you careen through the two-and-a-half mile course again and again. After you've completed four full laps — which is equal to approximately 10 miles — finish your unforgettable ride and savor the flavor of an ice-cold beverage. Then, make your way back to your air-conditioned motor coach where you are invited to lose yourself to the scenic sights of Mexico once again during your 30-minute ride back to the ship.
