The currency is the Euro. Although credit cards are widely accepted, payments under 10 Euros are normally made with cash.

The city center, Reina Victoria, Marques de Comillas and Muelle Ciudad are approximately a 5-minute walk from the ship dock. Muelle Reina Sofia is approximately a 10-minute walk from the dock.

Taxis are readily available, and it's recommended that you negotiate your fare before taking a taxi.

If service in a restaurant has been good, it's polite to tip 4-5% of your bill. € 0,20-0,30 is the recommended tip amount for taxi rides under € 20.

Common sense is advised when it comes to safety - don't carry large amounts of cash, or important documents (passport, etc), and be aware that pickpockets may be operating.
