Mazatlán Beach & Water Excursions

Mazatlán Beach Escape

Sprawl out atop golden sands, make a splash in turquoise blue Pacific Ocean or stroll a picturesque coastline during a beach retreat amidst paradise.

Lose yourself to the captivating coastal views of magnificent Mazatlan as you make your way north — past charming shops, luxury hotels and distant coastal views — aboard an air-conditioned motor coach along one of the longest and most picturesque waterfronts in the world. During the drive, learn about the fascinating history of the renowned city and bay from your friendly guide. Then, revel in the picture-perfect views of the late 19th-century El Faro lighthouse and snap a picture of the spectacular harbor during a stop at Cerro del Vigia, commonly known to the locals as "Lookout Hill." After your approximate 45-minute journey, arrive at a local beach resort — the Hotel Playa Mazatlán at Playa Gaviotas beach — and enjoy the day as you so desire.

During your visit, soak up the sun and relax to the soothing sounds of the breaking waves from the comfort of a cozy beach chair. Immerse yourself in the sparkling blue water of the Pacific Ocean or float along the gentle ocean current atop a boogie board. Compete in a fun-filled game of beach volleyball or touch football. Sightsee during a stroll along the pristine coastline and soak up the local Mexican flavor that seemingly surrounds you at every turn. Indulge in an authentic Mexican lunch and savor a sip of a refreshing tropical drink. Then, make a splash in the resort pool, shop for a souvenir at a local store and surrender to the cool island breezes that wash over you in all directions. After nearly five hours of exotic bliss, wind down with an approximate 30-minute air-conditioned drive back to the ship.

Sit back, relax and gaze out across the sprawling splendor of Mazatlán as you embark on a 45-minute air-conditioned motor coach drive — past picturesque tropical terrain and gentle sweeping hills — to the Hacienda Las Moras at the base of the Sierra Madre mountains. Seemingly frozen in time, the Hacienda Las Moras is an authentic 19th-century, 2,000-acre agave plantation that has been renovated to its original colonial-style glory. Upon your arrival, embark on a guided tour of the grounds — discovering the illustrious history of the property from your guide — and snap a picture from the hacienda's historic white chapel nestled atop a ridge overlooking the picture-perfect property. Following your guided tour, make your way to the pool area and enjoy the rest of the day as you desire.

During your visit, soak up the sun from the comfort of a cozy chaise lounge. Swim in the sparkling blue water of the pool, or go for a relaxing stroll through the hacienda grounds, which brim with fresh flowers and private, shady vistas. Visit the working stables, which are home to a number of friendly farm animals, and say hello to one of the many magnificent horses. Savor the flavor of an authentic Mexican lunch amid authentic Mexican artwork and architecture and then enjoy a festive family piñata party boasting sweet treats for everyone. Best of Mazatlán

Dive into the sights, sounds and flavors of Mazatlán during this excursion that includes a tour of the famous Cathedral, a cliff diving performance, and an afternoon spent at a local beach resort where fine food and a folklore show await.

Withdraw to the sprawling seaside views of incomparable Mazatlán as you embark on a 10-minute, air-conditioned drive north — past craggy cliffs and sweeping countryside— to Cerro del Vigia, known to all as "Lookout Hill." During your scenic drive, discover the history and culture of Mazatlán and its famous bay from your friendly guide. Upon your arrival, get lost in the picture-perfect views of the late 19th-century El Faro lighthouse, situated 515 feet above sea level, and snap a picture of neighboring bay and islands in the distance. Following your 15-minute stop, journey to the age-old Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception, originally constructed in 1875. Stand in the shadow of the Cathedral's twin yellow towers, and step back in time as you venture inside to discover an array of exquisite statues and ornate old-world furnishings. After your 15-minute visit, continue on to watch the world-famous divers take their death-defying plunge into the shallow waters of Olas Altas, timing their jumps to coincide with the incoming waves. Marvel at their spectacular feats — an unbelievable sight to behold — before traveling to a breezy beach resort to begin the next leg of your excursion.

After your arrival at the beach resort, take in a quick introduction to the many amenities, which are yours to enjoy for the remainder of the day. Savor the flavor of an authentic Mexican lunch, and delight in a traditional Mexican dance show starring a host of classically trained, costumed adult and children performers. Marvel at the many styles of dance indigenous to Mexico — from the early pre-Hispanic era to the more recent folkloric age — and don't be surprised if you and your family are invited to take part in the presentation. Then, enjoy the rest of your visit as you desire. Soak up the sun to the soothing sounds of the breaking waves from the comfort of a cozy beach chair and swim in the sparkling blue Pacific Ocean. Stroll along the pristine coastline, make a splash in the resort pool or shop for a souvenir at a local store and surrender to the cool island breezes that wash over you in all directions. After your approximate four-and-a-half hour beach break, sit back and relax as you embark on your 30-minute drive back to the ship.
