Swedish is the official language in Stockholm. Some useful Swedish phrases can be found here.

The currency is the Swedish Krona (SEK). Most places accept major credit cards. Euros and U.S. dollars are also widely accepted. ATM machines can be found in the city.

A wide variety of transport options are on offer, including commuter train, bus, tram, light rail, subway (Tunnelbana) and ferry. All share the same ticket system, making it very easy to get around. When buying tickets, check the restrictions on travel zones and times valid.

Stockholm is considered a safe city, but common sense is still advised - don't carry large amounts of cash, or important documents (passport, etc), keep your wallet in a front pocket, bags across the body at the front, and don't leave cameras or expensive items on show on tables or chairs.
