St Thomas & St John Activities

Charlotte Amalie

Find great bargains in the primary St. Thomas shopping area. Discover sparkling jewelry, distinctive European china, elegant and casual clothing, and collectible local crafts in this bustling part of town.

Blackbeard's Castle

Check out this popular restaurant with its panoramic view. Originally known as "Skytsborg," its watchtower is over 300 years old and home to pirates — including the infamous Blackbeard — in the 18th century.

Fort Christian

Explore Fort Christian, the oldest standing structure in the Virgin Islands. This handsome brick fortress, built on the harbor in 1672, is now the home of the Virgin Islands Museum, where memorabilia and maps trace St. Thomas' history.

Seven Arches Museum

Take a glimpse into the lifestyle of the island's Danish ancestors in the 18th century. Visit this marvelous museum, once a private home with slaves' quarters, now fully restored and furnished in Danish West Indian style.

Government House

Visit one of the island's most popular historic sites, the stately white structure which has represented the center of official life in St. Thomas since the 1860s. The first two floors offer fascinating artifacts of local political history.

Coral World Ocean Park

At Coral World Ocean Park on St Thomas, you can get up close and personal to the beauty and magic of Caribbean marine life. Here you will experience what may be a once in a lifetime opportunity to touch a shark, hand feed a stingray or watch newborn seahorses learn to swim. In addition to the many interactive exhibits, an array of water activities are also on offer. Click here for more details.

Beaches

On the north coast of St Thomas, is Magens Bay Beach, USVI , touted by National Geographic Magazine as one of the most beautiful beaches in the world. Other beaches on St Thomas are Morningstar Beach, Sapphire Beach and Coki Beach.
On St John beaches include Caneel Beach, Trunk Bay and Cinnamon Bay.

Shopping

Duty free shopping abounds on St Thomas. Havensight Mall is right next to the cruise ship dock, while Charlotte Amalie offers a much bigger choice of shops. MountainTop is a festive shopping complex 1,500 feet above sea level, offering amazing vistas.
