Places to Visit in Villefranche

Église Saint-Michel (Saint Michael's Church)

Built in the 1750s, this baroque Italian-style church houses various works of art, notably a large Saint Michael painting above the marble main altar, a recumbent sculpture Christ known as the "Christ of the Galleys" and a polychrome wooden statue of San Rocco. The organ built by the Grinda Brothers in 1790 is one of the oldest of the County of Nice still in operation.

Beach

The beach in Villefranche is better than the stoney beach at Nice, but is very narrow, so space can be an issue in the peak season.

Nice

A popular destination for both young and old, with something to offer nearly everyone. It is well known for the beautiful view on the Promenade des Anglais, its famous waterfront. The Old Town comprises a dense labyrinth of alleys, narrow buildings and pastel Italian-style facades.

Monaco

Monaco is the second smallest independent state in the world (after the Vatican) and is almost entirely urban. Monte Carlo is not the capital of Monaco but a government district. Seven public escalators and elevators (all free) help negotiate the steep slopes of the city.
Monaco-Ville, also known as “le rocher” or “the rock,” is still a medieval village at heart and an astonishingly picturesque site. It's where you''ll find the Prince's Palace, Cathedral and Saint Martin Gardens. Visit the 16th-century Palais du Prince, once home of Monaco's Prince Ranier III.
Try your luck at the Grand Casino which features stunning decor inside. An entrance fee is charged and the dress code is extremely strict - men are required to wear coats and ties, and casual or 'tennis' shoes are forbidden.
Formula 1 fans will enjoy seeing the streets where the Monaco Grand Prix is held.

Cannes

A glamorous and expensive seaside town considered to be one of the social hubs of Europe, home to the world-famous film festival. Walk up the steps of the Palais des Festivals, where the Festival is held, and retrace the steps of some of the world's most famous film stars.

Eze

A small village on a mountain, between Nice and Monaco. Here you'll find a beautiful cactus garden with a spectacular view, and can visit a perfume factory for free.

Yacht Charter

This company offers yacht charter from the French Riviera.
